Traditional, artisan and healthy cuisine

At Casa Rural Ahora the cuisine is artisan and healthy. We choose mostly certified organic products. All our dishes are prepared with lot of time and personal dedication in the purest slowfood way because we believe the result well worth it.

We follow a traditional cuisine based on vegetable products from the orchard or nearby, free range eggs and chicken, and organic fruit.

We are passionate about returning vegetables to their lost appeal, for this reason our menu is mainly vegetarian and it use to surpise to non-vegetarians by its taste, balance and elaboration.

We serve a unique menu consisting of: Starter, First course, Second course, Dessert and Drink.

The dining room is open on weekends, bank holidays, and whole August. We always work by reservation.

Breakfast at Casa Rural Ahora is really important and you will notice.

Breakfast is made up of:
Coffe «Pucherete style«: A mixture of organic coffee and malt, in the regional traditional way.
Tea. Depending on the day or availability we prepare different kind of teas.
Fruit according to season and availability.
A serving of goat cheese and avocado
Butter accompanied by homemade jam (depending on availability).
A bowl with crushed or sliced ​​tomato.
Portion of homemade sponge cake.
Organic olive oil (first cold pressing) from the area.
Organic cane sugar.
Sea salt and garlic cloves.
And of course slices of typical andalusian bread.

You will enjoy breakfast listening to calm and relaxing music. In good company. With the aroma of toasted bread. The smell of hot coffee. Ummm! So good!

What are the meal times?

Breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 2:30 p.m. and dinner in summer at 9:30 p.m. and in winter at 9 p.m. We greatly appreciate maximum punctuality to facilitate work in the kitchen.

Why we take care so much about food?

The food is one of the aspects that affect us most in everyday life: transgenic products, precooked food, hormone in chickens, etc. After all, you don’t usually have the time to cook. We give importance to healthy food but we do not sacrifice taste at all, quite the opposite, we believe that joining healthy and rich food is absolutelly possible. We try to reduce (or even eliminate) as much as possible the use of sugars, lactose or other refined harmful products, looking for alternatives with surprising results. But we do not forget the nutritional and energy balance of the dishes, also respecting as far as possible the seasonality of the vegetables. Because taking care of food means preventing diseases.

What is included in the menu with half or full board?

The menu includes starter, first course, main course, dessert and water. Soft drinks and alcoholic drinks must be paid separately: we have organic craft beer, organic white, rosé and red wine. Drinks brought from outside are not allowed.

Will my child eat?

If you are asking for this question, you probably already have problems with your child’s diet. The child’s diet is very important for his/her future development and that is why it is important to get used to eating varied and healthy from early stages, especially with the parent’s example. Our dishes should be good for children but if they eat or not it will depend on many factors not related with our cuisine and that may be interesting for your reflection. We have 100% vegetarian option (booking in advance) and a wide variety of dishes and desserts for vegans and allergic, who do not want to give up eating tasty. We also have specialized in DETOX retreats for those who want to purify toxins from their body and incorporate healthier eating habits in their lives with surprising results.
